Phone leaks have became very common these days and mostly the leaks are hoax, but sometimes it can also be accurate and give you correct details about a phone before its release. The brand worst affected from these leaks is Google, specifically, their Pixel smartphones.
Recently 9to5Google read a document stating about the entire product line of Google for 2020 and 2021. The leaked internal document reportedly mentions phones like Pixel 2, Pixel 4, pixel 4a, and pixel 5G and some other in-development devices.
The interesting part is the codenames given to the phones like Pixel 5 is codenamed “barbette” and other which we came to know are “oriole”, “passport”, “raven”. The big surprise is the ‘passport’ is reserved for a foldable smartphone speculated to be launched at Q4 2021.
The foldable smartphone technology is still in early stages and nothing groundbreaking had never came out of any tech company boasting to launch a foldable smartphone.
Google working on foldable smartphone rumor also surfaced in 2019, but then Google denied the rumors and said they were just working on “Prototyping the technology.”
I would like to tell you that these prototypes aren’t necessarily go into the production floor.
According to 9to5Google the leaked document also mentioned about a nickname called “muskie” for an axed Pixel 2 XL prototype.
