Samsung recently released their highly anticipated flip and foldable smartphone called Galaxy Z Flip 5G. It was supposed to be unveiled on August 5, but Samsung seems to be in a hurry to capitalize on this new opportunity.
As the name suggests, Galaxy Z Flip 5G is a flip and foldable smartphone with additional support 5G network.
The processer powering Galaxy Flip 5G can be the talk of the town. Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 865 plus 5G SoC can give at least 10 % power surplus compared to the predecessor.
Foldable smartphones were supposed to taken very seriously by big smartphone companies. It was something new coming to the market with foldable and bendable display and all. The success could’ve made them rich, as the smartphones were to come with hefty price tags.
But soon all changed as the durability of bendable smartphones were questioned. It was thought that the design is too complex for mainstream usage.
Then, Covid-19 happened, and all the development of this new tech took a back seat. As income levels are believed to be shrinking in the near future consumer focus can again shift to more affordable products. The more pressing question is when the overall smartphone industry is going to take foldable and bendable tech seriously.
Whatever the future may hold but Samsung wants to take a serious risk and going for a full fledged launch for Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
