PUBG is undoubtedly the most popular game in India. It has over 175 million downloads in our country, making India largest in terms of number of downloads. When PUBG was launched in 2018 it took the country by storm and changed the way we look at gaming.
PUBG might be the most popular game in India, but the affection is not the same likewise, as India even after being the largest in terms of downloads and users, accounts far less for revenue generation for the game.
The numbers does not properly show the influence PUBG has on India at all levels. But the influences are not always positive. The negative influence of the game includes frequent bans in different states and cities, controversies on social media, suicide and so many other factors.
Something similar happened in Jalandhar according to a report in Dainik Jagran, few days ago when a guy shot himself in his head over PUBG. The BBA student took this extreme step because his father snatched his phone stopping him to playing the game.
The father & son had multiple fights about playing the game and report outlined that father was worried about son’s academic performance is hindered by his gaming habits.
Report also claims that the parents broke their son’s smartphone and than the son started using his father’s phone to play the game. Report also claims that the son left a suicide note before taking the terrifying step.
