Google owned Spreadsheet creating software called Google Sheets is in pretty good shape these days. Abundance of features and convenient tools make Google Sheets a must use. Another convenient oriented move by the mountain view based company to make Google Sheets more user friendly is to add a feature called Smart Fill.
The announcement was made public by Ryan Weber, Google’s Product manager saying that the company is trying to blend new AI tools with Google Sheets to make it a go to data management software to be used by anyone, not just by specialists.
What is Smart Fill?
Smart Fill is quite similar to the feature which predicts words provided in Gmail while writing an email. The feature has been named “Sheet Smart Fill”.
The purpose of Smart fill is to auto complete words and thus making data entry easier for non-conventional users who don’t have the habit for using spreadsheets everyday. “Smart Fill” will detect the pattern of your words and data accordingly.
Based on the learning of the AI tool a corresponding formula will be created every time to applied.
“Smart Fill” shows the seriousness showed by Google to gain market share in the spreadsheet software space.
